The Division of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Chalmers invites applications for a position as Full Professor in Mathematics with emphasis on Modelling and Computation in applications. You should be a leading researcher and teacher in mathematics with a broad interest and experience in its applications to other scientific areas and technology.

We expect you to have a positive impact on our ongoing diversified research in mathematics which has its focus on applications, and to integrate well with our other internationally successful researchers in this area. An outstanding scientific record is expected, as well as the ability to create a vibrant academic atmosphere among Ph.D. students and co-workers in mathematics.

The department has ongoing cooperation with several industrial partners and medical institutions, as well as collaborations with several scientific centers and departments at Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg.

Part of the overall research at Chalmers is organized into eight interdisciplinary Areas of Advance. You are expected to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to promote the use of mathematics in these other areas of science and technology.

Chalmers offers an individualized relocation package (including subsidies for moving costs and help with practical issues when moving to Sweden).

You are expected to take advantage of Chalmers eight Areas of Advance in your scientific work.

You will be responsible for courses, which involves planning and performing teaching at all levels. You are also expected to take part in the work of developing new teaching methodologies, for example through the application of new technologies and mathematical software. The position includes supervision of students' independent work, in particular acting as supervisor for Ph.D. students.
